Seminar Synopsis
ZTE and Xiaomi, according to a recent statistical report, have risen to being amongst the top mobile phone manufacturers worldwide. Qihoo360 is a prominent leader in the field of anti-viral software. In addition to their impressive records in sales, Xiaomi and Qihoo’s IP deployment strategies also make an indispensable contribution to their success.
As the ancient Chinese saying goes, “before the troops move, fodder and provisions go first”. In today’s business arena, intellectual assets are a company’s “fodder and provisions”- thus, before a company launches its products, its intellectual property deployment strategy must already be in place. Beyond using IP deployment for self-protection, companies might even need to consider adopting more aggressive measurements to “combat” their competitors, and/or leverage on their IP assets to gain competitive advantages and create new revenue streams.
The IP Academy has invited IP directors of ZTE, Xiaomi and Qihoo to share their insights IP management, "Internet Plus" business models on IP strategies, Internet enterprises' overseas IP strategies, patent-centric business models and defensive strategies against patent assertion entities.
The event is organized by the IP Academy, SMU is one of the supporting organizations for the seminar.
