The activities in this calendar are organised across three pathways:
Travel to Asia places students in the region directly. Through overseas studies, internships, community projects, and co-curricular immersions, students gain first-hand experience of Asia's economies and societies, alongside the professional networks that endure beyond graduation.
Explore Asia through Events @SMU brings the region to campus. Talks, cultural showcases, and networking sessions offer regular, accessible encounters with Asia's diversity — integrated into campus life throughout the year.
Discover Asia through External Platforms extends engagement beyond SMU. Curated external opportunities connect students to the broader Asia ecosystem, building the intercultural edge that employers — locally and globally — increasingly expect.
Together, these experiences advance SMU's Graduate Learning Outcomes: intercultural understanding, understanding of Asian perspectives, critical thinking and problem-solving, innovation and enterprising skills, and resilience. They also help shape graduates with an informed worldview, agility, self-directedness, and a strong sense of purpose.
