SMU Behavioural Sciences Institute Director Professor David Chan explained the design, results and implications of a scientific experiment on the Over-Justification Effect. The experiment was conducted in an ice cream tasting situation to examine how the introduction of an external reward decreases the intrinsic enjoyment of an activity.
