Disability Services

SMU is an inclusive university that endeavours to make the campus, including our academic programmes, events, facilities and services, accessible to persons with disabilities (PWDs). It is our commitment that no one shall be denied opportunities to learn and work on the basis of disability.
The campus is designed to be safe and welcoming for PWDs to learn, work and visit. We collaborate with stakeholders and partners to proactively reduce or remove barriers within the campus. In addition to the services and support provided to every student, SMU offers a range of facilities and services to support PWDs.
These include the following assistance:
  • Different modes of assessment and examination
  • Course materials in audio and braille
  • Note-takers and classroom support
  • Personal assistants and mentors
  • Assistive technology and technology support
  • Assistance to access campus services and facilities
  • Access to Glade, a shared accessibility space for rest and recovery
  • Accessible parking lots
