Isaac Manasseh Meyer Bursary

About the Bursary

The Bursary is established in 2013, funded by the Isaac Manasseh Meyer Trust Fund, with the objective to provide financial assistance to undergraduates with physical disability studying full-time at the Singapore Management University.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full time SMU undergraduates without distinction between race, religion and gender
  • In any year of study and pursuing any degree programme
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Evidence of physical disability
  • With keen interest in arts and co-curricular activities


Two bursaries will be awarded annually, commencing Academic Year 2013-14.

Tenure and Benefits

  • Each bursary is valued at $5,000 and tenable for the recipient’s one year of study.
  • The bursary will go towards funding the recipients' annual tuition fees.
  • The recipients may be in concurrent receipt of another bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria.
  • At the expiry of the tenure period, the recipient may apply in the subsequent year(s) for the same bursary if he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria.

Tuition Grant Scheme

  • The recipients are required to take advantage of the Tuition Grant Scheme (TGS) provided by the Singapore Government for subsidised education.
  • Under the TGS, non-Singaporean recipients (including Singapore Permanent Residents) will be contractually obliged to work for Singapore-based companies for 3 years upon graduation.


Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.

About the Donor

The Isaac Manasseh Meyer Bursary is funded by the Isaac Manasseh Meyer Trust Fund administered by the Public Trustee's Office, Ministry of Law. The Trust Fund provides Bursary support to a needy student with physically disability. The Board of Trustees of the Isaac Manasseh Meyer Trust Fund actively supports various charitable causes in the community including student care services and programmes for the disabled.
