Dou Yee Enterprises Bursary

About the Bursary

Established in 2009, the Dou Yee Enterprises Bursary is aimed at providing financial assistance to and motivating full-time undergraduates in any degree programme at the Singapore Management University to achieve greater heights of excellence.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time first year undergraduates in any degree programme
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Good academic results
  • Active CCA or community involvement with proven leadership qualities
  • With demonstrated financial needs


Two bursaries will be awarded annually until Academic Year 2017-18.

Tenure and Benefits

  • Each bursary is valued at $5,000 per year.
  • The bursary is tenable for up to four (4) years of the recipient's duration of studies, subject to the recipient's continued observance of the eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions of award.
  • The bursary will go towards funding the recipients' annual tuition fees.
  • The recipients may be in concurrent receipt of another bursary for cash allowance, subject to fulfilment of its eligibility criteria.

Tuition Grant Scheme

  • The recipients are required to take advantage of the Tuition Grant Scheme (TGS) provided by the Singapore Government for subsidised education.
  • Under the TGS, non-Singaporean recipients (including Singapore Permanent Residents) will be contractually obliged to work for Singapore-based companies for 3 years upon graduation.


Shortlisting of candidates for consideration will be from the list of applicants applying for SMU-administered bursaries in the year of award.
