About the Donor

Dr Toh, a Founding Father of modern Singapore was a selfless, fearless individual who had championed the rights of the poor, the needy and the underprivileged in Singapore, especially with regard to their right to a better education and thence a better life and society. The Toh Chin Chye Bursary has been established in his memory, to provide a well-rounded tertiary education to successive generations of undergraduates who because of personal financial circumstances, would otherwise have had their education terminated at junior college level.
