From July to August, 1,500 freshmen attended the Freshmen Team-Building (FTB) Camp 2011 conducted by the Freshmen Teambuilding Committee. A traditional curtain-raiser to induct freshmen to SMU's collegial environment, the FTB Camp was conducted over four runs this year.
This year's FTB Camp saw local and international freshmen from the different Schools participating together in team-building activities. These activities were designed to introduce our Freshmen to the SMU CIRCLE values of Commitment, Integrity, Responsibility, Collegiality, Leadership and Excellence through experiential learning.
The three-day, two-night camps gifted freshmen with a unique SMU experience, friends and wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
Showcasing SMU's vibrant school life like no other, Vivace 2011 started off the new academic school year with a bang, treating freshmen to a fun-filled day of activities.
Vivace is SMU's annual CCA day and is part of the SMU Freshmen Experience. On this day, more than 130 student clubs from the Arts, Sports, Special Interests and Community Service and SMU Xtremists teamed up to put up a spectacular array of live performances, showcases and games, transforming the concourse into a hallway of colors, sound and buzz.
During Vivace, freshmen could not only sign up for CCAs that caught their interest, but could also participate in CCA tryouts on that day itself. With all the excitement of the event, Vivace 2011 proved itself to be an experience that will be long-lasting as freshmen memories. Vivace CCA Day - your passport to student life indeed!
