International Students

International students play an important role in contributing to the multi-cultural character of SMU. This diverse university population contributes significantly to cross-cultural understanding and allows for a deeper awareness of world issues.

OSL annually plans a series of social and recreational programmes to engage our foreign students while on campus. These activities provide opportunities for integration with the university community and are aimed at enhancing the SMU experience.

We proudly welcome Connect China, which officially formed as a Chinese sub-group of ICON in August 2008. The very first branch of ICON, Connect China aims to contribute to the cultural diversity of our University by linking the SMU community to business opportunities in China and fostering better understanding of Chinese culture.
