Best Paper

Dr. Tony Kang from the School of Accountancy was a winner of the second Journal of International Accounting Research (a section journal of the American Accounting Association) best paper award for papers published in the journal during 2005. Prof Kang received the award for his co-authored manuscript (with Prof Ole-Kristian Hope at the Rotman School of Management of the University of Toronto) entitled “The Association between Macroeconomic Uncertainty and Analysts’ Forecast Accuracy,” published in Volume 4 (1) of the Journal of International Accounting Research.

They found that the accuracy indeed decreases with inflation
rate and foreign exchange rate volatility.
