Admissions Requirements
SMU and KAIST seek high-performing and motivated students for admission into the fast-track programme. Admissions requirements for the undergraduate portion of the fast-track programme are exactly the same as SMU’s regular undergraduate programme admissions requirements.
The admissions requirements are:
- Strong high school results;
- Minimum SAT Reasoning scores of 1,900 (out of maximum of 2,400);
- If English is not the medium of instruction in high school, TOEFL scores (550 and above for paper-based; 213 and above for computer-based; 79 and above for internet-based) or IELTS scores (6.5 and above) are required;
- Short-listed candidates will be interviewed in English by SMU and KAIST faculty.
At the end of their third year at SMU, students admitted into the fast-track programme will be evaluated by KAIST for eligibility into KAIST postgraduate programmes. To be considered, students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.4 (out of a maximum of 4) at SMU and be recommended for admission to postgraduate studies by their Dean at SMU. For admission into KAIST MBA programme, students must also have sufficient internship experience.
