Three SMU Valedictorians* If you are one of those far-sighted students who plan to succeed, our SMU BAcc Valedictorians have valuable insights to share with you! As you embark on the next phase of your life, tertiary education is a major decision. What programme or course should you choose? How do you choose? Do you know enough about degree programmes and professions? What career options do the different professions offer you? These and other questions must be weighing heavily on your mind. The accounting profession has been in the news lately, both regionally and internationally. Some have noticed a severe shortage of qualified accounting professionals, some have highlighted the role accountants and auditors play in a world full of regulatory requirements (and financial improprieties), some have noted the increasing complexity of business transactions and how an accounting qualification and training equips you with skill sets for an accounting or a non-accounting career. This seminar brings together, for the first time, three SMU Accountancy graduates, all SMU Valedictorians in their respective years of graduation. Kong Wee, Kexin and Darren will share with you how they made that very important decision to enroll in the BAcc programme at SMU, what their SMU education and BAcc degrees mean for them, the career options available to them as BAcc graduates, and life after university.
