SMU student Chuah Sun Soon has always dreamt of travelling from Singapore to Russia on a motorbike. Opportunity came knocking when he was accepted for overseas exchange studies at the Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics on the International Business Fellowship Award. Sun Soon, who was completing his internship with nonprofit organisation Scope Plus in India, decided to make his way there by land.

The adventurous second year business management undergraduate started his engine in July 2009, travelled 12,000 kilometres on motorbike from India through Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and arrived in Russia in August. Sun Soon stayed with locals in various countries along the way. He plans to take the Trans-Siberian Railway back home.
