The UOB-SMU Entrepreneurship Alliance Centre was officially opened on 20 September. Following a pre-ceremony event at Conference Hall 2 that included addresses by Mr Wee Ee Cheong, Deputy Chairman & President of United Overseas Bank and Professor Howard Hunter, President of SMU, the new Centre was officially "blessed" by the SMU Lion Dance Troupe.

The Centre will administer the Alliance Fund and serve as the interface for the local business community to tap onto the readily-available resources and expertise in SMU as well as the panel of business mentors.

The Centre will also organise various research and networking activities for the benefit of local enterprises and SMU students. These include breakfast seminars, CEO talks, workshops, CEO mentorship programmes, executive training sessions, annual conferences and dinners.
