Business School holds inaugural distinguished lecture series

 

 

Jointly organised by the School of Business and the Office of Executive Education, the inaugural lecture was held in the SMU Auditorium on 27 November to a full capacity of faculty and executives. Professor William F Miller, Herbert Hoover Professor of Public and Private Management Emeritus and Professor of Computer Science Emeritus, Stanford University was the distinguished lecturer.


Professor Miller, who is also President & CEO Emeritus of SRI International, lectured on “New Regions of Talent & Innovation, Their Development Strategies and Impacts”, sharing the similarities and differences in the development of new and rising regions, and how regions such as Silicon Valley are responding.

 

 

The distinguished lecturer was joined by local entrepreneurs in a panel discussion moderated by Professor David B Montgomery, Dean of the School of Business, SMU. Speaking as panelists in an engaging and interactive session were local entrepreneurs Mr Stephen Lim, CEO, SQL View Pte Ltd; Mr Ong Peng Tsin, Chairman & CEO, Encentruate; and venture capitalist Mr Tay Choong, President, Fortune Venture Investment Group.
