SMU’s biennial Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition returns with new and exciting developments. From the 2008 Competition onwards, scholars from the Lee Kong Chian Scholars Programme, who have formed a working committee, will be taking over the helm in an organising role. Through the leadership of this working committee, many more initiatives, such as business networking and fund-raising opportunities, development workshops and mentorship programmes, will be incorporated to broaden the experience for participating undergraduates.
Open to students from tertiary institutions from around the world, the Competition is an opportunity for student entrepreneurs to test their business ideas on a global platform, increase their visibility, raise the profile of their business concepts, and potentially seek funding from investors and mentorships from business gurus.
The 2008 SMU Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition is sponsored by HSBC. With their generous support, the Competition aims to attract an even greater level of quality entries. Teams will compete for a total of up to US$69,000 in prizes and rewards, and finalists will be flown to Singapore to make their presentations to a panel of internationally-acclaimed judges.
The Competition opens on Friday, 18 January 2008 and closes on Friday, 28 March 2008. Participants can submit their plans electronically through the website–www.smu.edu.sg/lky. |
