SMU TEAM WINS THE SINGAPORE HR CHALLENGE 2011

An inter-disciplinary team of students comprising: Benjamin Loh (Accountancy, 4th year); Kenneth Oh, (Business–Marketing & Management Major, 4th year); Shobana Nadaraja (Social Science, 3rd year) and Eileen Mishra (Business–Finance Major, 3rd year) has emerged tops in the Singapore HR Challenge 2011.

The team conducted a thorough investigation into the HR system and operations of Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital and came up with strategies to improve the workflow and manpower allocation of the hospital.

Said team leader, Kenneth Oh: “Considering that none of us are majoring in HR, our win came as a surprise for many of the other teams. Going into this without any pre-conceived notions of HR gave us the winning edge. Our diverse backgrounds also allowed us to see the issue and consider proposals from different perspectives.”

Kenneth Oh presents the plaque to SMU President, Professor Arnoud De Meyer.
