ONE YEAR ON Knowledge@SMU

Knowledge@SMU celebrated its one-year anniversary recently after publishing 15 issues and more than 80 original articles. The content of the online business journal is derived from research completed by faculty in SMU’s six schools, Institutes and Centres of Excellence, as well as collaborations with other universities and organisations. The audience for the online publication has continued to increase and exposure through the Knowledge@Wharton Network has given Knowledge@SMU a broader international reach.

The journal has received increased interest from the business community. This is in part due to the inclusion of articles that are relevant to the various sectors – most articles cover topics ranging from finance and investment, leadership and change, marketing, strategic management, law and public policy to innovation and entrepreneurship – and the published outcomes of projects and publications developed by SMU in partnership with banking and technology leaders such as Standard Chartered Bank and Infosys Technologies Ltd. Increased attention from the media has resulted in requests to reproduce Knowledge@SMU original articles in publications such as The Edge Singapore, and from the Economist Intelligence Unit and Pacific Pension Institute.

Launched in May 2008, Knowledge@SMU was developed in collaboration with Knowledge@Wharton, and is the first Asian academic partner and member of the Knowledge@Wharton Network. The Network originates from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, which has over one million subscribers worldwide.

Leadership for Knowledge@SMU is provided by the Vice Provost of Research and an Advisory Board consisting of faculty representatives from the Schools in SMU and the Li Ka Shing Library.
