Pang Eng Fong, Practice Professor of Management and Director of the Wee Kim Wee Centre and the Lee Kong Chian Scholars programme, has been appointed Interim Dean of the Lee Kong Chian School of Business with effect from January. He assumes the interim role following the completion of appointment by the school's former dean, David B Montgomery, Sebastian S Kresge Professor Marketing Strategy, Emeritus, Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Ang Ser Keng, Senior Lecturer of Finance, has been promoted from Head of Graduate Programmes Office and Finance Adjunct Faculty, Lee Kong Chian School of Business, with effect from 1 January.

David Chan, Professor of Psychology, has been appointed Member of the Advisory Panel on Youth Research for a two-year term. The Advisory Panel was formed to provide expertise and guidance to the National Youth Council on matters relating to youth research on a national level and to provide linkages to local and international researchers.

Chua Choong Tze, Assistant Professor of Finance, has been given the SMU Award for Most Promising Teacher.

John Davis, Practice Associate Professor of Marketing, has been promoted from Marketing Adjunct Faculty and Director of Business Development, Lee Kong Chian School of Business, with effect from 1 January. He has also been appointed Director of the Center for Marketing Excellence, with effect from 1 January.

Dawn Dekle, Practice Associate Professor of Psychology, has been appointed Deputy Director, Center for Teaching & Learning, with effect from 1 January. She also has been given the SMU Award for Most Inspirational Teacher.

Andrew Lee, Practice Associate Professor of Accounting, has been given the SMU Award for Most Inspirational Teacher.

Loo Wee Ling, Practice Assistant Professor of Law, has been given the SMU Award for Most Innovative Teacher.

Riccardo Pelizzo, Assistant Professor of Political Science, delivered a speech on 26 January on "Ethics Regimes and Codes of Conduct" in front of the Honor Council of the DPD (upper chamber of the Indonesian Legislature). In the course of his Indonesian visit, he also conducted three workshops for the members of the Ethics Committee of the DPR (lower house of the Indonesian Legislature).

Shirley Soh has been appointed Director of Student Life with effect from 14 November 2005. Her career spans TV journalism, publishing and corporate marketing, and she was most recently with LASALLE-SIA.

Teo Jwee Liang has been appointed Chief Investment Officer, with effect from 1 March. He brings more than 15 years of investment management experience, from both a fund sponsor and a fund manager perspective.

Susheela Varghese, Practice Associate Professor of Corporate Communication, has been appointed Director of the Centre for English Communication, with effect from 1 May.

Wong Yue Kee, Practice Associate Professor of Information Systems, has been appointed Director of the Centre for Teaching & Learning, with effect from 1 January.

Jun Yu, Associate Professor of Economics, has been appointed associate editor of two international journals in Econometrics: Econometric Theory and Econometric Reviews.
