Dr Choon Meng Ting

CEO, Healthstats Singapore

Dr Ting Choon Meng is a medical doctor, serial inventor of medical devices and an author. He is in private practice in Singapore for more than 20 years. BPro device is the first wrist-worn device capable of capturing 24hr BP (Blood Pressure) readings and Pulse waveform analysis both at the same time. This patented invention which is FDA approved has won Awards from World Economic Forum and Frost & Sullivan as Monitoring Technology of the year 2007. BPro is now commercialized in more than 25 countries in the world.

Dr Ting's other inventions includes a non-invasive blood glucose monitor, a smart needle for intra-articular injection and a mobile ER vehicle for mass casualty that is now the standard deployment in the Singapore Homeland Defence Force.

Dr Ting has also pioneered the technique of Visco supplementation for the treatment of OA knees since 1991. He has done more than 25,000 knees to date and has written a handbook for doctors. It was launched in Beijing in August 2007.

Dr Ting is still actively involved in clinical practice, spending half his time in the clinic and the other half in research. Dr Ting is also very actively involved in the promotion of innovation culture for the nation. He serves as an member of the panel evaluating the TECS program under Spring Singapore. He is also a member of the Technology Advisory Committee of Spring Singapore.

Dr Ting has also been appointed as a member of the Enterprise Board for the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) recently formed under the Singapore Management University (SMU). He is also on the Advisory Board of the Wee Kim Wee Center in SMU.

In April 2008, he founded the Singapore Fellowship Of Inventors (S-FOI), a non-profit organization dedicated to the education, support and networking of fellow entrepreneurs and inventors. The monthly meetings will culminate in an annual convention of INVENT SINGAPORE held since 2008.

In March 2009, Dr Ting has also been appointed as a member of the evaluation panel of the National Research Foundation of Singapore and evaluated projects for funding in bio-medical cluster. Furthermore, he also served on the Economic review Committee of the Singapore Government in 2009.

In 2010, Dr Ting was invited to become an International Faculty Member of the Leicester National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Cardiovascular Biomedical Research Unit (BRU) based in the U.K. He is the first and honored member to be invited from outside of U.K region.

Mr Yishai Klein

Managing Partner and Co-Founder, Tamarix Venture Partners

Yishai Klein is the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Tamarix Venture Partners and the Regional Director for Giza Venture Capital, Asia. Tamarix is a new Singapore-based venture fund investing primarily in early and growth-stage Singapore-related companies. The Fund targets companies which are technology-driven, targeting regional markets, and have high-growth potential. The Fund invests in diversified sectors including Information Technology, Internet, Digital Media, Mobile Communications, Cleantech and Healthcare. Tamarix is an affiliate of Giza Venture Capital, an Israel-based VC firm currently managing 5 funds totaling S$900M.

Yishai joined Giza in 1997 and relocated to Singapore in 2001 to open and head Giza's Asia office. He has overseen the Fund's direct investment and portfolio business development activities in the region. In the past 18 months, he has led investments in four regionally based companies in the clean-tech and communications sectors. He has advised portfolio companies, such as: Altair, Lucid, IntelliDx, Actimize, Envara and Cyota, with their expansion into the region.

Formerly, Yishai worked in Investment Banking specializing in research, analysis, company valuations and private placements. Prior to joining Giza, Yishai worked in a subsidiary of Pioneer Investments, an asset management and investment firm.

Mr Deepak Natarajan

Director, Intel Capital

Deepak Natarajan directs Intel Capital's investments in South East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, and is based in Singapore.

Prior to Intel Capital, Deepak spent 27 years in Silicon Valley as a marketing executive, entrepreneur, and venture capitalist. As an executive, Deepak established a track record of success and accomplishment in a broad spectrum of pioneering technology companies including Sun Microsystems, Autodesk, Seeker Software, and Roamware. As a Managing Director at Redwood Ventures and an EIR at Storm Ventures, Deepak served on the boards of several Silicon Valley start-ups.

Deepak holds an MBA and MSME from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BSME from the University of Washington, Seattle.


Mr David Su

Managing Partner, Matrix Partners, China

David Su is the managing partner for Matrix Partners China and leads the firm's investments in the consumer internet, mobile and medical technology. David is currently a board member of Bona Film Group (NASDAQ:BONA), China's leading Film Distribution and Production group and Adsame Network, one of the largest digital marketing and internet advertising network in China. He also serves as an independent board director on China Kanghui Holdings (NYSE:KH), the leader in China orthopedic medical technology market.

Prior to joining Matrix China, David was a co-founder and General Partner of TDF Capital China. Between 2000 and 2008, David led TDF's investments in Baidu.com (NSDQ:BIDU) and AAC Acoustic (2018.HK). He also invested in and worked on many of TDF's portfolio companies including P-Cube (Sold to Cisco systems) and China Kanghui Holdings (NYSE:KH). David was concurrently a partner of KPCB China Fund, jointly started by TDF Capital and KPCB in 2007.

Prior to venture capital, David was the Managing Director of Greater China operations at Lotus Development, IBM. In his six years at Lotus, David held various senior management, technology sales and services positions and was responsible for leading and significantly growing Lotus' software and services business in the greater china region. David started his career with Port of Singapore Authority as a systems analyst focusing on developing and supporting container port operations systems.

David graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
