Medtrieval’s mission is to provide safe, efficient, and reliable automated medication retrieval systems for use in correctional and assisted living facilities where there are high risks for error and drug abuse. Medtrieval is dedicated to maintaining outstanding client relationships to provide the most dependable medication retrieval systems available.
Medtrieval is seeking USD2.75 million, in two rounds of funding.

Medtrieval’s primary product is the MT1, a large, stationary device that will be installed at the medical clinic(s) in correctional facilities. It will robotically deliver prescription medications to the user who will access the MT1 device securely through a biometric reader. The unit will be controlled by touch screen commands.
Medtrieval’s clients will receive staff training, free standard maintenance, 24/7 call-in service and consulting, centralized database management, and regular software upgrades. In addition, each MT1 system will be individually integrated and customized to fit the facility’s specific needs.

Sola Caritas is a social enterprise that helps companies market themselves online while building their corporate social image; it comes at a perfect time when the world yearns for greater corporate responsibility and when targeted online interactive marketing is becoming mainstream practice.
Sola Caritas is seeking USD41,000 to cover capital expenses for the launch of its beta website by end 2008.
Sola Caritas is a social enterprise that merges online advertisements with building a company’s corporate social brand image; it breaks the traditional approach to philanthropy by aligning business interests with the world’s social interests.
Our main tool, the Donate for Free tool, works by first having companies load their video promotions or advertisements onto the Sola Caritas platform. A user will then be able to select that video, view it, and upon completion, 50% of the ad fees will go to a charity of that user’s choice. At that point, the user can choose to go forth and complete a quick multiple-choice survey, resulting in an additional donation to the charity of choice by the advertising company.
In 2007, Sola Caritas was awarded the Royal Bank of Canada’s (RBC) Business Innovation Award and has also won EcoVenture in 2008. To date, we have already signed seven international organizations, including WWF, Habitat for Humanity, Meal Exchange, LetsStopAIDS.org, International Baccalaureate Organization, KPMG and Cathay Pacific – all of whom have agreed to join Sola Caritas for its beta test starting in the September of 2008.
