In addition, finalists from overseas teams will receive up to 2 economy class air-tickets (the most direct and economical route from the city of the home institution they have registered from) to Singapore to compete in the Final. The 2 complimentary air-tickets are only for the core members of the team. Other team members may accompany the presenting core members at their own expense.
Each finalist team (both local and overseas) will also receive 1 complimentary deluxe hotel (meant only for twin sharing) room for 5 days/4 nights at a 5-Star hotel to compete in the Final. SMU will make the necessary arrangements with the hotel.
Finally, all finalists will also have a chance to take part in a Singapore Business Study Mission (BSM), organised specially for them before the Final Round. During this BSM, finalists will meet local government agencies, have lunch with business angels and, perhaps most valuably, have access to rare networking opportunities with a spectrum of Singaporean government and Asia's industry notables.
The "Cash Upfront" portion of the prizes will be given out to all the teams after the Final in July 2008, and after the organiser is satisfied and convinced that the rules, regulations and the spirit of the Competition were not violated in any way by the teams.
The second part of the cash prize will be given out as an investment grant. Teams will need to incorporate their business and set up a corporate bank account in order to receive this grant for business development use only and has to be drawn down by 11 January 2009.
