Mr Du Ping is Lianhe Zaobao's leader writer, a columnist and the duty editor of Tianxiashi commentary page.

Born in 1962 in Anhui Province of China, he graduated from Shanghai Foreign Studies University with two Bachlor's degrees, one on English language and literature, and the other on international journalism. Soon after joining China Radio International in 1986, he was posted in Brussels as its first EU and NATO correspondent, witnessing all historical events in Europe before and after the Cold War. Back in Beijing four years later, he became the chief diplomatic correspondent of this renowned national radio, frequently traveling abroad with China 's leaders. Apart from day-to-day assignments, Mr. Du Ping played a key role in drafting New Year speeches for Chinese President from 1993 to 1995. Among a dozen journalistic awards, Mr Du was voted as one of the Best Journalists in China and one of the Ten Outstanding Youths of the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television.

He joined Lianhe Zaobao in November 1995. And in 2006, he became a visiting professor of Zhengzhou University , China.

杜平，《联合早报》评论员、专栏作者、时政评论版《天下事》主编。

1962年生于中国安徽，1986年毕业于上海外国语大学，获英语语言文学和国际新闻双学士。 1986－1992年任中国国际广播电台驻欧盟和北约总部首任记者；1992年回北京担任该台时政采访部主任、首席外交记者。其间，受上级委托，连续三年为中国国家主席的元旦讲话主持组稿工作。

获首届“中国新闻奖”一等奖，首届“中国广播奖”特等奖，首届全国“百佳新闻工作者”称号，国家广播电影电视部首届“十大杰出青年”；全国重点大学郑州大学客座教授。
