The opportunity to create a legacy

The Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics is a formally structured university-wide unit of SMU, involving all Schools in the University. It promotes the study of Financial Economics and Financial Econometrics in areas of strategic relevance to Singapore’s economy and the economies of the region. It draws upon the strengths of the University, including outstanding faculty and close relationships with several major US universities.

The Institute provides an opportunity to honour Mr Sim’s contributions to the state and business communities and to create a leading international academic and research institute in Singapore. Funding to the amount of a $17 million endowment, is the cornerstone to accomplishing these goals. Gifts will generate a matching 1:1 grant from the Singapore government, thereby doubling support to advance research and education in Financial Economics at SMU.

To establish and administer a successful Institute, SMU seeks the support of the family, friends and admirers of Mr Sim Kee Boon to raise contributions to fund this initiative. All donations in support of the Institute will receive a double tax deduction.
