1. Ministerial Committee on Aging

  • Professor Benedict Koh gave a presentation to Minister Lim Boon Heng and Minister of State Heng Chee How and some senior civil service officers on research findings of CSS, with special reference to asset allocation decisions of CPF account holders, savings and investments patterns, health retirement survey and longevity risk management (2009).


2. Central Provident Fund Board (CPF)

  • Olivia S. Mitchell make a presentation on Health and Retirement Survey (HRS) to senior officials from the CPF Board, Department of Statistics, PSD, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and Ministry of Manpower (2010).
  • CSS invited Professor Hidehiko Ichimura from University of Tokyo to present the structure and empirical results of the Japanese Health Retirement Security Survey (Jstar) to Deputy CEO and senior officials of CPF ( 2009).


3. Monetary Authority of Singapore

  • CSS held a meeting with Elean Chin and Shirley Sim (Assistant Director, Strategic Development Division Financial Centre Development Department MAS) to discuss research initiatives on Ageing, Pensions and Retirement Security (2010).
  • CSS met Christina Tan (Deputy Director, Head of Consumer Issues Division, Capital Markets Department of MAS), Neo Lay Peng, Toh Hooi Min to discuss potential collaboration between CSS and MAS's Money Sense Financial Literacy Programme (2010).
  • CSS arranged for Todd Groome of IMF to brief the Executive Director of MAS on the 2008 global financial crisis and its implications for pension systems around the world. (2008)


4. Government Investment Corporation of Singapore (GIC)

  • CSS met Doreen Chia (Senior Vice President) and Cai Wenzheng (Associate) of GIC to discuss the impact of ageing on financial markets (2010).


5. Citibank

  • CSS met Cheryl Chen of Citibank to discuss ways of measuring effectiveness of Financial Literacy Programmes (2010).
  • CSS held extensive discussion with Paula Bennett, Director of Corporate Citizenship in Citi Asia Pacific to explore collaboration on research and executive training on financial literacy programmes (2010).


6. Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School

CSS discussed with Professor David Bruce Matchar and Angelique Chan from Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School about potential collaboration on Health and Retirement Survey (HRS) (2010).


7. Tsao Foundation

CSS held a meeting with Susana Concordo Harding (Assistant Director, Interagency Collaboration Division, Hua Mei Centre of Tsao Foundation) and Mary Geronimo to discuss Curriculum Design of Financial Literacy Programmes to be offered to Elderly males in Singapore (2010).


8. Singapore Actuarial Society

CSS held a meeting with Mr Frank McInerney (President of SAS) and his colleagues from the Singapore Actuarial Society to discuss about mortality statistics in Singapore (2010).
