Winston Koh is Professor of Economics at Singapore Management University (SMU). He is currently the Director of Research Administration in the Office of Research, and the Interim Dean at the School of Social Sciences. He read Economics at the University of Cambridge and graduated with Double First Class B.A. Honours, and was named Wrenbury Scholar in Political Economy. He received his PhD in Economics from Princeton University. Before joining SMU, Dr Koh was an invetsment banker at JP Morgan. Dr Koh is a recipient of the Lee Kuan Yew Fellowship for Excellence in Research at SMU. His research interests include theoretical research in investment management in global financial markets, economics of information and collective choice, and industry competition and market structure, as well as policy-related research concerning Singapore's economy. Dr Koh has served on various committees for government agencies, and is also actively involved in consulting and executive development programs. In his spare time, Dr Koh is an avid photographer and participates in triathlons, marathons and other endurance races.

     
 

Melvyn Teo is Professor of Finance at the Singapore Management University. He is also director at the BNP Paribas Hedge Fund Centre at SMU. Melvyn’s research focuses on the behavior of hedge funds and their impact on capital markets and other economic agents. His research articles have been published in top finance journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics and the Review of Financial Studies. For his work on hedge funds, he has garnered best paper awards from the European Finance Association, Inquire UK, the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), and INSEAD. At SMU, he was conferred both the Lee Foundation Fellowship and the Lee Kuan Yew Fellowship for research excellence. Melvyn has taught and consulted for various banks, sovereign wealth funds, and investment management firms. Melvyn graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics. He subsequently earned a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University.

     
 

Dr. Susan Wachter is Professor of Real Estate and Finance at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. At Wharton, Dr. Wachter holds Richard B. Worley Professor of Financial Management Chair. Dr. Wachter served as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development and Research (PD&R) at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), a presidentially appointed and Senate confirmed position, from 1998 to 2001. As Assistant Secretary, Dr. Wachter was principal advisor to the Secretary on national housing and urban policy. Dr. Wachter also holds an appointment as Professor of City & Regional Planning in the Department of City and Regional Planning at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Wachter is the author of over 150 publications. Dr. Wachter has served as President of the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association and coeditor of Real Estate Economics, the leading academic real estate journal. Dr. Wachter was Chairperson of the Wharton Real Estate Department from 1996 to 1998. An often quoted authority on mortgage markets and the current crisis, Dr. Wachter has written widely and testified to Congress on related issues. Dr. Wachter has been a Brookings Fellow, a senior fellow at the Urban Land Institute and is currently Co-Director of the Penn Institute for Urban Research. She was also the Celia Moh Visiting Professor at Singapore Management University in 2004. Additionally, Dr. Wachter is the senior research fellow of the Centre for Asset Securitization in Asia (CASA) at the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics.
