The Wong Kwok Leong Endowed Scholarship is available to local undergraduates currently studying full-time at the Singapore Management University. The objective of the Scholarship is to encourage and spur full-time undergraduates in any degree programme, with demonstrated financial need, to achieve academic excellence.
Up to three scholarships are awarded annually, each tenable for one year.
Eligibility Criteria
- Full-time SMU undergraduates in any degree programme
- Singapore citizens or permanent residents
- Outstanding academic achievements
- Active involvement and commitment in community service
- Priority will be given to students with demonstrated financial need
Tenure and Benefits of the Scholarship Award
- The Scholarships, valued at $10,000 each, are tenable for one year only.
- The Scholarships cover tuition fees and other study-related expenses.

No bond is required under the terms of this Scholarship.
- Scholars will be strongly encouraged to contribute back to the community by submitting a charity fund-raising project plan to the Donor.
Tuition Grant Scheme
- Scholars are required to take advantage of the Tuition Grant Scheme (TGS) provided by the Singapore Government for subsidized education.
- Under the TGS, non-Singaporean scholars will be obligated to work in Singapore for a minimum period of three years upon graduation.

The Wong Kwok Leong Endowed Scholarship is set up with a $1million endowed donation by local businessman and philanthropist Mr Wong Kwok Leong and his wife, during their 50 th year wedding anniversary celebrations. The Scholarship will go towards helping outstanding students with financial need. With Mr Wong's demise in 2008, Mrs Wong continues this life-long commitment and dedication to helping the less privileged and giving back to the society.
