Established by the Neptune Orient Lines Ltd (NOL), the Scholarship is available to undergraduates studying full-time at the Singapore Management University.

One(1) scholarship will be granted for Academic Year 2005-2006, with a new scholarship granted each academic year. The Scholarship is tenable for the duration of the scholar's studies (up to four years), subject to good academic performance.

Eligibility Criteria

• Full-time first year SMU undergraduate of any nationality and in any degree programme
• Outstanding academic results
• Good leadership skills and character
• Active CCA and community involvement
• Demonstrated interest in NOL’s business and intention to pursue career in maritime
• Have a moral obligation to work for NOL upon graduation

Tenure and Benefits of the Scholarship Award

• The scholarship, valued at $10,000 per year, is tenable for the duration of the Scholars’ studies (up to four years), subject to good academic performance.
• The Scholarship covers tuition fees and study-related expenses, amongst others for the scholar to undertake a regional Business Study Mission and International Student Exchange Programme with a partner university.
• No bond is required of the recipient. However, the recipient is required to take up employment with NOL or with any of its designated companies upon graduation if requested by NOL.

Tuition Grant Scheme

Scholars are required to take advantage of the Tuition Grant Scheme (TGS) provided by the Singapore Government for subsidized education.
