The Scholarship is established by Moore Stephens Singapore with the objective of motivating students from the School of Accountancy to achieve academic excellence in their studies. The Scholarship is available to applicants proceeding for their third or fourth year of studies.
Up to two scholarships may be awarded annually for students proceeding for their third year of studies. Students who received the Mdm Tan Gim Tee (Mrs Aw Kim Swee) Scholarship and who meet the eligibility criteria would receive priority consideration for the award of Moore Stephens Scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
- Full-time SMU BAcc undergraduates proceeding for their third year of studies
- Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents
- Outstanding academic achievements (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5)
- Good character records
- Good CCA, community service and/or leadership records
- Interested in public accounting practice as a career
- Demonstrated financial needs
Mdm Tan Gim Tee (Mrs Aw Kim Swee) Scholars who meet the eligibility criteria would receive priority consideration for the scholarship award.
Tenure and Benefits of the Scholarship Award
- The Scholarship, valued at $7,500 per year, is tenable for one year.
- The scholar is required to serve a minimum of 10 weeks' internship with the Donor at the end of his third year of studies.
- Subject to satisfactory internship and at the discretion of the Donor, the scholar may be extended of his scholarship tenure into his fourth year of studies.
- No bond is required under the terms of this Scholarship. However, if being offered employment, the scholar is expected to be favourably inclined in considering joining the Donor upon graduation.
Tuition Grant Scheme
Scholars are required to take advantage of the Tuition Grant Scheme (TGS) provided by the Singapore Government for subsidized education.
