Generously sponsored by Dr Li Ka-shing, a global
entrepreneur and philanthropist, and the Hutchison
Whampoa Group, the Scholarships are available to
outstanding undergraduates from mainland China and
Hong Kong studying full-time at the Singapore Management
University.
Two scholarships are awarded annually, each tenable
for the duration of the scholars’ studies (up
to four years), subject to good academic performance.
Eligibility Criteria

hailing directly from Mainland China & Hong
Kong

Outstanding academic results

Proficiency in English

Active CCA involvement and/or
community service
Tenure and Benefits of the Scholarship Award

The scholarships, valued up
to $40,000 per year, cover tuition fees, book allowance,
one one-off grant for the purchase of a notebook
computer, travel-related costs for overseas internships,
overseas exchange programmes and Business Study
Missions, and general living expenses.

The scholarships are tenable
for the duration of the scholars’ studies
(up to four years), subject to good academic performance.

The scholars will be required
to serve internship attachments, if required by
the donor in Mainland China or Hong Kong.

No bonds will be imposed by
SMU on the scholars.
Tuition Grant Scheme
Scholars are not eligible for the Tuition Grant
Scheme (TGS) provided by the Singapore Government
for subsidized education.
