Foreign Students Endowed Scholarship
 

Funded from the proceeds of an endowed gift by a generous anonymous donor, the Scholarships are available to outstanding undergraduates from Asia studying full-time at the Singapore Management University.

Three scholarships are awarded annually, each tenable for the duration of the scholars’ studies (up to four years), subject to good academic performance and the scholars’ financial situation.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time non-Singaporean SMU undergraduates from Asia
  • Outstanding academic results
  • Proficiency in English
  • Active CCA involvement and/or community service
  • Good leadership skills & character records
  • Preference will be given to financially needy students

Tenure and Benefits of the Scholarship Award

  • The Scholarships, covering tuition fees and providing an annual living allowance of $4,500 are tenable for the duration of the scholars’ studies (up to four years), subject to good academic performance.
  • The scholars may need to serve internship attachments in companies designated by the donor for a period of up to six months or such other periods as advised by the University.
  • No bond is required under the terms of this Scholarship.

Tuition Grant Scheme

  • Scholars are required to take advantage of the Tuition Grant Scheme (TGS) provided by the Singapore Government for subsidized education.
  • Under the TGS, foreign scholars will be obligated to work in Singapore for a minimum period of three years upon graduation.
