SMU Sports Scholarship
 

The SMU Sports Scholarship is given in recognition of the achievements of an outstanding sportsman in his or her first year of study at SMU. The Scholarship aims to raise sports awareness and to give support to outstanding sportsmen in the University.

One Scholarship is awarded annually and is tenable for one year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time first year SMU undergraduate of any nationality and in any degree programme
  • Creditable academic achievements
  • Good character records
  • Good track records of CCA and/or community service involvement and who have displayed evidence of leadership skills
  • Participated at national level sports competition locally or overseas
  • Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need

Tenure and Benefits of the Scholarship Award

  • The Scholarship, valued at $2,000 per year, is tenable for one year.
  • No bond is required under the terms of this Scholarship.

Tuition Grant Scheme

Scholars are required to take advantage of the Tuition Grant Scheme (TGS) provided by the Singapore Government for subsidized education.


This Scholarship is made possible by SMU undergraduates, Mr Koh Seng Leong and Mr Renfred Tay Woon Chuan.
