The SAS Institute Bachelor of Science Scholarship, established by SAS Institute Pte Ltd, is aimed at encouraging outstanding full-time undergraduates in the Bachelor of Science (Information Systems Management) programme to achieve academic excellence in their studies, particularly in the learning of business analytics technology and applications.
Four scholarships will be awarded annually over a further three-year period commencing Academic Year 2011-12. Each scholarship is valued at $5,000 and tenable for one year of study.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this Scholarship, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Full-time undergraduates of any nationality in the Bachelor of Science (Information Systems) programme.
- Good academic results (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0).
- Demonstrate leadership potential.
- Good sense of citizenship within SIS or the broader SMU community.
- Special consideration will be given to students taking the Business Intelligence and Analytics tack within the Advanced Business Technology second major or business intelligence related courses.
- Special consideration may be given to students with financial needs.
- Preference will be given to students proceeding to their third or fourth year of study.
Tenure and Benefits of the Scholarship

The Scholarship,
valued at $5,000, is tenable for one year.

The scholars may be offered renewal of the Scholarship in subsequent years on the recommendation of the School of Information Systems.

The Scholarship will offer partial financial support towards annual tuition fees and/or study-related expenses.

The scholars are required to complete a minimum of 10 weeks' internship with the Donor and/or its designated companies.

No bond is required under the terms of this Scholarship.

The Donor and/or its designated companies may offer career opportunities to the scholars.
Tuition Grant Scheme
- Scholars are required to take advantage of the Tuition Grant Scheme (TGS) provided by the Singapore Government for subsidized education.
- Under the TGS, non-Singaporean scholars (including Singapore Permanent Residents) will be contractually obliged to work for Singapore-based companies for a minimum period of three years upon graduation.
