The ARA Asset Management Scholarships have been made possible through the generous support of ARA (an affiliate of Cheung Kong Group). The scholarships are aimed at providing financial support to outstanding full-time undergraduate students from the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, the School of Accountancy, or the School of Economics.
The following scholarships have been established:
- In Academic Year 2009-10, two scholarships for two first year students admitted into the Lee Kong Chian School of Business. Each scholarship is tenable for one year. The Scholars may be offered renewal of the Scholarship in subsequent years on the recommendation of the Lee Kong Chian School of Business.
- In Academic Year 2010-11, two scholarships for two second year students from the Lee Kong Chian School of Business. Each scholarship is tenable for up to three years.
- Commencing Academic Year 2011-12, two scholarships for two first year students admitted into the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, the School of Accountancy, or the School of Economics. Each scholarship is tenable for up to four years.
Eligibility Criteria
- Full-time undergraduates
- Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
- Good academic achievements
- Active CCA and community service involvement
- Exemplary conduct embracing the SMU CIRCLE values
- Demonstrated financial needs
Tenure and Benefits of the Scholarship Award
- The Scholarship is valued at $5,000 per annum.
- The Scholarship renewal is subject to good academic performance and financial needs of the Scholar.
- The Scholar may be offered an internship opportunity with the Donor.
- No bond is required under the terms of this Scholarship.
Tuition Grant Scheme
Scholars are required to take advantage of the Tuition Grant Scheme (TGS) provided by the Singapore Government for subsidized education.
