Best Senior Thesis Award
 

Sponsored by Mr Mathew Welch, the Economics Advisory Board Excellence Award and Best Senior Thesis Award are aimed at motivating exceptional talents in the SMU School of Economics, and to spur them to greater heights of academic excellence.

A total of 10 Economics Advisory Board Excellence Award and Best Senior Thesis Award will be given to students annually.

The Awards will be presented at the SMU Commencement Ceremony.

Eligibility Criteria

The Economics Advisory Board Excellence Awards will be given to the top graduating students from the School of Economics who meet the following criteria:

  • Outstanding academic results (a cimulative GPA of at least 3.4)
  • Strong leadership potential
  • Active contributions to the student body or SMU community; and
  • Outstanding service to the community at large

The Best Senior Thesis Award will be given to graduating students from the School of Economics who meet the following criteria:

  • Year 4 student enrolled in the Bachelor of Science (Economics) degree programme
  • Best thesis of a topic approved by the School

The Awards will only be given if there are candidates of sufficient merit.
