Module 2: Assessing Strategic Performance: The Board Level View (3 days)

This module is designed to support Directors in fulfilling their responsibility to enhance the longer term financial performance of their companies.  It presents practical conceptual frameworks which help address 3 major questions of strategic concern to Boards.

  1. How will global trends such as globalization, technological and demographic change affect our industry and our firm?
  2. How will we achieve growth over the longer term in changing conditions?
  3. How should we assess top management performance in choosing and executing strategy?

The module will draw upon a variety of information sources including academic studies, case histories from international best practice and "live" actual examples from experienced members of the Singapore Institute of Directors. Relevant experience from participants will also form a substantial part of the learning experience.
