Pearlie Koh is an Associate Professor of Law in the School of Law at the Singapore Management University . She is also an Advocate and Solicitor of the Singapore Supreme Court. Prior to joining academia, she worked with the corporate department of a major Singapore law firm. Thereafter, she joined the Nanyang Technological University , teaching company law as well as business law to Accountancy and Business undergraduates at the Nanyang Business School . She was also responsible for developing the Corporate Law and Administration course for MBA participants at the Nanyang Business School .
Adrian is Head of the Corporate Department and a Senior Partner at Lee & Lee. He has been a partner since 1995. He actively practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance , venture capital work, corporate and commercial law, capital markets, domestic and international joint ventures, corporate restructuring, securities law, stock exchange practice and employment law.
He is recommended as a Leading Individual for Corporate/M&A in Singapore by Chambers Global in its 2006 edition of The Client's Guide to the World's Leading Lawyers for Business. He has also been described by The Asia Pacific Legal 500 in its Guide to Asia 's Commercial Law Firms as “a terrific corporate lawyer with an impressive track record in the market”. In addition, he has been recommended in the same publication as a Leading Individual in the field of Capital Markets. He has separately been one of the few named by the World Legal Forum in its Guide to Law Firms Around the Globe as part of the “impressive next generation” of top corporate lawyers in Singapore.
He continues into his ninth year of service on the Corporate Practice Committee of the Law Society of Singapore. He is also a director of Lovells Lee & Lee, the joint law venture between Lee & Lee and the international law firm, Lovells. He is the Non-executive Chairman of AEM Holdings Ltd and is an independent director on the Boards of United Pulp & Paper Company Limited, Isetan (Singapore) Limited, Oniontech Limited and Yoma Strategic Holdings Ltd, which are public-listed companies on the Singapore Stock Exchange.
NEIL R. JONES (DBA, Harvard University)
Neil Jones is an Assistant Professor of Management at the Singapore Management University. Prior to joining SMU, he was an Affiliate Professor in Strategy and Technology Management at INSEAD (2000 to 2004), a Visiting Assistant Professor at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, (1999-2000) and an Assistant Professor at the Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, (1996 to 2000).
Before going into academia, Neil had also held positions at McKinsey and Company, First National Bank of Chicago and Amoco Production Company (now BP). Neil's research areas are in Technology Strategy, Management of Technological Change and Product Development Performance. The companies that Neil had taught Executive Education and had consulting engagements with include a wide variety of firms, such as Nokia, 3M, 3i, BOC, Shell, SAP, DKSH, Hewlett-Packard, Alcatel, United Technologies, Unilab etc.
ANG SER KENG (MBA, London Business School)
ANG SER-KENG is a Senior Lecturer of Finance at SMU. Besides his academic appointment, he is the director of the UOB-SMU Entrepreneurship Alliance Centre. He also served as the Associate Director of the MSc in Wealth Management Program at SMU.
Prior to his appointment at SMU, Ser-Keng spent over seven years in investment banking. He spent nine years in London and Hong Kong, where he was involved in the origination and execution of a number of cross-border transactions in the Asia Pacific region at international banks, such as Deutsche Bank, ABN AMRO and Flemings, especially in mergers & acquisitions and capital markets. At Deutsche Bank, he was responsible for an acquisition in the US, amounting to US$5.5 billion, for a Japanese MNC. As a Senior Vice President at ABN AMRO, he was also responsible for cross-selling a broader range of products, ranging from debt to derivative products, M&A to ECM, as well as cash management to trade services. Prior to his career in investment banking, Ser-Keng worked at Arthur Andersen and Credit Suisse First Boston.
HWANG SOO CHIAT (PhD, Macquarie University)
Hwang Soo Chiat is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the School of Accountancy, Singapore Management University. Soo Chiat first joined academia in 1979 as a lecturer with the then University of Singapore. Soo Chiat's current research interests include the use of accounting ratios for prediction of bankruptcy of companies, corporate governance, and changing cultural values in Singapore. He has published in local and international journals.
Dr. Srinivas K. Reddy is Professor of Marketing and Director, Center for Marketing Excellence, Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University . Previously, he was the Executive Director and Group Head, Corporate Strategy and Leadership Development at Maytas Holdings. Prior to his stint at Maytas, Dr. Srinivas K. Reddy was the Robert O. Arnold Professor of Business and the Director of the Coca-Cola Center for Marketing Studies, Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia . He holds M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees in Business Administration from Columbia University . Dr. Reddy was on the faculties of New York University 's Stern School of Business, Columbia University , and the University of California , Los Angeles and was a visiting professor at Stanford Business School .
Dr. Reddy's expertise is in new product development, marketing and competitive strategy involving new brands and services. In 2006, he has been awarded the IBM's prestigious SUR grant to study corporate innovativeness and innovation conversion. He has consulted and taught executive programs for IBM, Coca-Cola Company, Miller Brewing, Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Bristol-Myers-Squibb, Satyam Computer Services, Chase, Turner Broadcasting, Cox Interactive Media, United Parcel Service, Equitable, Ford Foundation and Price Waterhouse Coopers. He has been recognized for his outstanding teaching and was the recipient of Award for Teaching Excellence in 1994. He was nominated as the MBA Teacher of the Year in 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2005.
Dr. Reddy along with Professor Krishna Palepu of Harvard Business School was the advisor to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh , India on the state's Vision 2020 program for economic development. Professor Reddy was the founding director of Quantum National Bank, Atlanta in 1995. He was also the co-founder of enLeague, a startup company involved in developing technolgical solutions for enterprise peer-to-peer networks. enLeague was the first startup to be funded by the Coca-Cola's incubator Fizzion. He was on the advisory board of Navigauge, a radio audience dynamics/telematics company, and Panacea, an electronic medical practice company. He is a Director of MRII (Marketing Research Institute International) and an Advisory Board member of GfK Academy , Germany .

Michael serves on the faculty of Singapore Management University and has been named a 2010 Fellow to the Society for New Communications Research. A dedicated internationalist, he has lived and worked in USA, Japan, Germany, Argentina, Finland, and Slovenia. Michael moved to Singapore in 2002 after six years of teaching in the MBA program at, and earning his PhD from, the University of Minnesota.
An enthusiastic teacher, Michael leads executive, MBA, and undergraduate courses in leadership and corporate communication. He has completed the participant-centered learning program at Harvard Business School, founded and led SMU's teaching excellence initiative, and written or served as the academic director of more than fifty business case studies. His books discuss workplace communication skills, and his forthcoming book examines corporate reputation practices across Asia.
In the executive education arena, he was faculty director of the Wharton-SMU Strategic Leadership and Change Management Program and taught in the President's MBA Program at Slovenia's Bled School of Management. He has also led executive programs for Intercontinental Hotel Group, IBM, Singapore Airlines, Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, GIC, Singtel, Singhealth, Keppel, NOL, IMC, and CARE.org.
Outside the academy Michael has consulted for 3M, Shell, US Bancorp, Singapore's CPF, National Healthcare Group, Bayer, UEM Group (Malaysia ), and Bosnalijek pharmaceutical (Bosnia). As a qualified neutral, Michael has worked as a private mediator and successfully resolved numerous courtroom, business, and community disputes.
After twenty years in higher education, the next chapter of Michael's career will include research and case writing about social media and how digital technologies are changing the way we learn, work, and communicate. Michael is a blogger, podcaster, scuba diver, and proud father who harbors illusions of one day becoming a chef.
Hwee Hoon earned her PhD in Management from the Krannert School, Purdue University in December 1996. She taught at the School of Business at the National University of Singapore from December 1996 to November 2005. Hwee Hoon has been with the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University since December 2005.
Hwee Hoon's research interests are in the areas of interpersonal trust, cross cultural awareness and emotional management at the workplace. Hwee Hoon has published in many international journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Human Relations and many others. She was also the Asia-Pacific Editor of the Journal of World Business from 2000-2004.
Hwee Hoon is also actively involved in Executive Teaching, both in English and Chinese and has trained for major organizations in Singapore (such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore) and China (such as Kerry Oils, Alcatel Asia Pacific). She also consults for organizations such as the Singapore Tourism Board, IE Singapore and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation.
Sebastian Tan is the Group Chief Human Resources Officer of Surbana Corporation Pte. Ltd. and is overall responsible for all people matters. In this capacity, he works closely with the Board of Surbana Corporation and the senior management team to add value and to deliver superior results for shareholders.
Sebastian has extensive human resource experience spanning industry sectors such as banking, financial services, technology, manufacturing, and life sciences, both at the operational level as well as board level. Until recently, Sebastian was managing director of Transitions Asia (S) Pte. Ltd.; a member of the global interim management solutions provider EIM (Executive Interim Management). Prior to that, he was the managing director overseeing the human resource function for Temasek Holdings (private) Limited, an Asian investment holdings company with a portfolio of companies in all major industry sectors such as financial services/banks, telecommunications, transportation and logistics, energy and resources, etc. across the globe. He was actively involved on numerous boards during this period.
Prior to the Temasek appointment, Sebastian was a Regional HR Director with American Express International Inc. covering 15 countries in Asia Pacific and South Asia. He has also served blue chip companies such as Hewlett Packard and Seagate Technology in various capacities.
He has an MBA from Northern Illinois University specializing in Human Resources Management. His main areas of interest are in talent management, organizational design, and executive coaching. Currently, he holds an adjunct faculty appointment in the Lee Kong Chian School of Business of the Singapore Management University.
