UBS Career Comeback
A Fellowship Program for Professionals Re-entering the Workforce - 17 and 18 April 2008
Are you a professional considering re-entering the workforce after a career break? If so, jump-start your transition!!
UBS and Singapore Management University (“SMU”) have developed a program to support professionals returning to the workforce after a career break. Participants will update their business knowledge, develop transition strategies, and network with business leaders. This highly selective program is offered at no charge to qualified applicants through funding from UBS. Enrollment is limited to ensure individual attention.
Recent studies seem to suggest that professionals face a number of unique obstacles when returning to the workforce, including a diminished personal network and increased family responsibilities. They must contend with a changed business environment, including technological advancements, regulatory changes, and the effects of mergers and acquisitions. These challenges, as well as personal and family issues, are hurdles that can be overcome with the right preparation and support.
On 17 April 2008, in conjunction with SMU, the UBS Career Comeback program brings together business updates as well as “soft” issues that relate to work-life transition by professors of SMU on SMU’s campus. Following the on-campus portion of the program, on 18 April 2008, UBS will bring participants to UBS’s premises where participants will meet with business leaders and where each is paired with an individual UBS peer coach to help participants in the development of their action plan for re-entering the workforce.
Candidates must have a minimum of five years of professional experience and have taken a career hiatus for a minimum of 18 months, but no more than seven years. A bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA or other graduate degree is preferred. Applications must be received no later than 28 March 2008; admitted candidates will be notified by 4 April 2008.
