ANG SER-KENG (MBA, London Business School; CPA)
Ser-Keng is a Senior Lecturer of Finance at SMU. He has over seven years of experience in investment banking. He spent nine years in London and Hong Kong , where he was involved in the origination and execution of a number of cross-border transactions in the Asia Pacific region at international banks, such as Deutsche Bank, ABN AMRO and Flemings, especially in mergers & acquisitions and capital markets. At Deutsche Bank, he was responsible for an acquisition in the US , amounting to US$5.5 billion, for a Japanese MNC. As a Senior Vice President at ABN AMRO, he was also responsible for cross-selling a broader range of products, ranging from debt to derivative products, M&A to ECM, as well as cash management to trade services. Prior to his career in investment banking, Ser-Keng worked at Arthur Andersen and Credit Suisse First Boston.
Ser-Keng received an MBA from London Business School and a Bachelor of Accountancy from the National University of Singapore. He is also a CPA and is qualified for ACIS.
CHAN ONN (PhD, Johns Hopkins University)
Chan Onn is an Executive Director of the Financial Markets Education department at UBS. The Financial Markets Education department is responsible for technical education in all product areas within UBS. Prior to joining UBS, he was a senior lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at the National University of Singapore. During his stint at the National University of Singapore, Chan Onn provided consultation for industrial projects in the areas of data analysis and statistical modeling.
JEREMY GOH (PhD, Washington University)
Jeremy Goh is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Singapore Management University and Drexel University. His research interests encompass fixed income securities, market efficiency and corporate governance. He has published in prestigious international journals including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Business, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of Financial Research, Financial Review, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, and Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance. His article on bond rating was awarded best research paper in fixed income securities at the 1997 Financial Management Association annual conference.
In 2000, he received the Bennet S. LeBow Research Achievement Award from Drexel University . Jeremy's teaching interests include fixed income securities analysis, corporate finance, capital budgeting, and investment analysis. He was voted "professor of the year" by the Chapman University 's MBA students association in 1997.
MICHAEL PREISS
Michael Preiss is currently Associate Director with the Investment Advisory Group in HSBC Private Bank, Dubai. He was formerly Senior Vice President & Senior Investment Advisor in Coutt's Bank (a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Scotland). He is also a Research Fellow at The Asian Bond Market Forum, a Hong Kong based think-tank. He is a resident trainer with Evolvere Inc., an Asian based executive training provider. Prior to that he was Chief Investment Strategist for CFC Securities, an independent bond trading house. He has extensive experience in, research, strategy consulting, investment and asset management.
A regular guest commentator on Bloomberg TV, CNBC Asia, and CNN, the BBC as well as India 's New Delhi Television, a columnist for finance magazine's in Hong Kong and China, as well as the Bangkok Post where he contributes the regular “Ahead of the Curve” column.
Mr. Preiss is working with Thailand's Ministry of Finance, as one of the founding members of the Asian Bond Market Development Secretariat in Bangkok. He has also been an guest lecturer at the Chinese University of Hong Kong where he taught on Technical Analysis as well as a course on Banking & Financial Institutions with a focus on China 's Financial System.
In addition, he is a regular guest speaker on global financial markets at and has designed a course on “Fixed Income Securities” for the Graduate School of The People's Bank of China, China's Central Bank.
