Different, innovative and vibrant are some of the defining characteristics of SMU's students when our advertising campaign drew a flurry of responses from the public and media last year. Indeed, we believe the spirit of creativity and entrepreneurship is very much alive and at the heart of SMU. Our mission is to groom global leaders and visionary entrepreneurs who can contribute and value-add to society. We are proud to record a total of more than 500 training hours "clocked in" jointly with 1,800 participants, friends, business associates and partners around the world despite the negative impact of SARS on the regional economy.

As we bid farewell to an eventful 2003, we want to take this opportunity to share with you the new exciting partnership programmes that we have put in place as well as share our happy moments and memorable events. Please do take some time to browse through this issue and we hope you will enjoy the three interesting and varied on-line presentations that had been specially included for you, titled, "New Regions of Talent & Innovation", "Managing Investor Relations" and "Inside the Black Box of Hedge Funds".

We wish you a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous Year ahead.
