AsiaPac Distribution Pte Ltd has been selected to supply Fujitsu tablet PCs, accessories and peripherals to the University for one year from 30 June 2008. The price listed will be valid for one year from 30 June 2008 to 30 June 2009.
The Tablet PC offers more features than the Notebook PC, namely digital inking and annotation, intuitive note-taking and increased mobility which harness SMU's wireless network and teaching facilities.
SMU promotes the use of the tablet PC because it greatly facilitates the interactive, participative and technologically-enabled learning experience that SMU is committed to.
Since AY2004, SMU has been promoting the use of the Tablet PC as part of its teaching pedagogy. In SMU's recent Virtual Canvas case study, the Tablet PC greatly facilitated the subjects' learning and teaching experience.
