About the Seminar:

This seminar will treat two topics. The first is the study of globalization on national patterns of ownership and their restructuring. Around this topic, the speaker has organized a research effort consisting of four countries at this time: the United States, Germany, Italy, and Korea. He will review the results of these studies, plus a few humorous results on why countries privatize. The second topic is the utility of network analysis, or more exactly, "small world analysis" for understanding the (slow) speed by which one can expect globalization to change national economies.
