About the seminar:
The story of the international expansion of Singapore's largest banks is interesting because of the presence of a role for five factors: ethnicity, Singaporean government policy, host government policy, origins (especially ownership), and random events. Of these five factors, the roles of ethnicity and origin, while not absolutely unique to the Singaporean situation, are certainly more of an issue there than almost anywhere else.
