The Competition is open to all full time matriculated SMU undergraduates during the period 12 November 2008 - 21 January 2009.
Participants can be in teams of minimum 1 person to a maximum of 5 persons (excluding faculty advisor).
Participants are required to submit a business proposal for a start-up or early stage venture. Proposals for merger/acquisitions of an existing company, consulting projects or licensing arrangements are not eligible.
The business plan should address the following:
- Innovation and feasibility of business idea
- Sustainability and scalability of business proposition
- Passion, commitment, accessibility to financial resources and expertise of team members to launch the business
- 3 year financial projections (income statement, cash-flow statements and balance sheet)
In terms of format, the business plan must be double spaced, in 12 point font with 1 inch margin, and not exceeding 2000 words (financial projections are not included in the word count).
Please keep to the 2000 word count. Excessively lengthy business plans will be penalised or even disqualified.
Disqualification
The organiser reserves the right to disqualify any teams who violate the rules, regulations or the spirit of the competition.
