What happens if I miss the deadline for course registration?

Please call CEC at 6828 0812 or email us at cec@smu.edu.sg to check if places are still available.

I would like to withdraw from the course at the last minute. I cannot attend the course I have signed up for.

Registration is confirmed once payment is made.


Classes

For all other reasons, please submit in writing (email or letter and documentary proof) your reason for absence to your instructor and CEC.

Can I join another class if I miss the class?

No, there are no replacement classes if you are absent, unless otherwise stated.

What happens when the class falls on a public holiday?

Makeup classes will be arranged at a mutually agreeable time between the teaching consultant and the students.


 

Lost Transcript/Certificate

I lost my official transcript/certificate for one of the English modules. Can I retrieve the transcript?

Yes, a reprint of the transcript or certificate is available at a cost of $20. Please allow three to five working days for CEC to process your request.


Payment

Can I pay by NETS or credit card?

There are no NETS or credit card terminals at CEC. However, you can make payment using your NETS card at any AXS station. From the main page, follow this path: Services, SMU, Centre for English Communication (CEC).


If I leave half-way through the course, will I get a refund?

No, there is no refund once course fees are paid and processed.
