Academic Writing
Academic Writing introduces students to the conventions of good essay writing.
One of the hallmarks of a strong undergraduate experience is the ability of students to debate, in writing and speech, the ideas and controversies that define and challenge their times.
Bridging Programme
The Bridging Programme is a four-month full-time course to prepare international students before they apply to SMU or other universities.
This programme is taught by experienced instructors and it focuses on academic communication in English and comprises reading, writing and listening.
English Enrichment Programme (EEP)
The English Enrichment Programme offers a range of interesting workshops that help students improve their written and spoken English. CEC develops these workshops based on students’ needs.
Writing Coaches Programme
The Writing Coaches Programme was piloted in November 2007. Students can now enrol in a one-to-one consultation with the teaching consultant on their term papers during a specified period during the term. This session focuses on the areas of organization and the development of ideas.
