Fast facts about CEC

• CEC conducts a wide variety of courses and workshops, such as Academic Writing, Introduction to APA Citation, Writing Term Papers, Grammar and Pronunciation workshops.
• CEC conducted over 80 academic programmes and workshops in English communication in 2008.
• CEC draws its teaching expertise from over 60 adjunct faculty.
• CEC routinely serves more students in some of its programmes than annual cohorts in most of the schools at SMU. About 1700 students have attended CEC courses in 2008.
• Bridging Programme: Annually, between 100-180 students from ASEAN and China take this 15-week intensive English course before seeking admission to SMU.
