Mr Tan Kee Yong

Ministry of Education

Mr Tan Kee Yong is the Deputy Secretary (Services) of the Ministry of Education (MOE). He assumed the appointment on 1 May 2005 .

Mr Tan graduated from the University of London , Imperial College of Science & Technology , United Kingdom in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) in Mathematics, on an Overseas Merit Scholarship. He obtained his Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University , USA , in 1992 and completed the Advanced Management Programme at Wharton in 2004.

Mr Tan has 28 years of distinguished service in the Administrative Service of the Singapore Civil Service. He has held various senior appointments in the Public Service Commission, the Ministry of National Development, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Defence. Prior to his posting to MOE, he was the Chief Executive of the Singapore Land Authority.

In 1996, Mr Tan was awarded the Public Administration (Silver) Medal by the President of Singapore for his contributions in public service.
