Mike DeNoma joined the Board of Standard Chartered PLC as Group Executive Director on 12 May, 2000 and assumed responsibility for the Consumer Banking businesses. Mike joined the Bank in July 1999 with specific responsibility for Consumer Banking in the main Asia markets. He is based in Singapore .

Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Mike was the founder, Chairman and CEO of Asia Foods Limited, a group of foreign owned food technology companies, in the People's Republic of China , the Chief Operating and Marketing Officer at Hutchinson Whampoa and Citibank's Senior Vice President for Marketing and Sales for Asia . Before joining Citibank in 1990, he held senior positions at PepsiCo Inc. and Procter & Gamble.

An American citizen, Mike has a BA from Ohio University and MBA from Wharton Business School . He is married with 6 children.
