Dr Gan See Khem is the Chairman & Managing Director of Health Management International Ltd and also the Managing Director of Mahkota Medical Centre Sdn Bhd.

She received her BA (Econs) from the University of British Columbia in 1970. She was awarded a Doctoral degree from the University of Sheffield . Dr Gan was conferred a Fellowship from the Marketing Institute of Singapore in 1984.

On her return from studies in the United Kingdom in 1977, she served as a Senior Lecturer at the National University of Singapore until 1993 when she left for the private sector. She was previously the Group Executive Director of Hong Bee Land Group of Companies until she assumed her current position.

Dr Gan was a Nominated Member of Parliament of the Republic of Singapore.

She holds the distinction of being one of the first two women to step into the male domain of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) in 1995. Dr Gan was the chairperson of Education Commerce Committee and subsequently the Chairperson of Commerce Committee of SCCCI.

Dr Gan was a member of the Council of the Singapore Business Federation.
